Welcome to our crazy life!

For years friends and family have told me to write a book about some of the wild, funny, challenging and (at times) unbelieveable events in my family's life. I decided a blog would be a good way to get my feet wet...so here goes! I was NOT an English major so don't critique.

By the time we got to the hospital and got iv started she was almost non-responsive. They say she was having "neurologic changes." She didn't rouse much or fight when the doctors tried to examine her. They had 2 doctors in the room with eyes on her the entire time and got my consent for a STAT spinal tap. They were suspecting meningitis at this point because of high fevers headaches, etc.
They brought down a doctor from PEDS ICU to monitor her, sedated her and did the tap. Her opening pressure was 34 which was high and they lowered it down to low 30's. Normal is under 20 and the high side of normal is 20-24. The sent off spinal fluid for testing and moved her upstairs. My mind is going a million miles per hour at this point.
