Welcome to our crazy life!

For years friends and family have told me to write a book about some of the wild, funny, challenging and (at times) unbelieveable events in my family's life. I decided a blog would be a good way to get my feet wet...so here goes! I was NOT an English major so don't critique.

Friday ENT came and talked to us about findings of MRI. Lots of details I won't bore you with. We make a plan to put a tube in her right ear, take adenoinds out and remove/biopsy mass on Monday. Unless she gets very unstable or fever gets too high. Friday she had terrible day. Looked like this, still not walking, running high fever, headache, can't turn lights on in the room bc her eyes hurt. Started IV vancomycin antibiotic to protect against MRSA. Doctors told us that if mass is abscess typically is MRSA and should start treating. Also gave benedryl with it because it caused red splotching all over. That night we decided she should be transferred to St.Louis Childrens hospital. It was a Friday night on a holiday weekend, she was not critically ill; yet too sick to travel. Couldn't fly her due to increased intracrainial pressure and hospital thought they could do more for her. Transfers are only made for higher level of care that they cannot provide. We felt like by not having a neurologist or neurosurgeon on staff or even able to come and see her qualified for transfer. Doctors are called during the night and told to regroup the next morning. Started giving Nubane for pain that night. ENT came Saturday morning and said fever was getting too high and she needed emergency surgery that day.
